Management and Analysis of LiDAR Data

Forest inventory from ALS and TLS data

Based on airborne and terrestrial LiDAR data forest parameters are calculated on large scales down to single trees.

The analyses comprise:

  • calculation of tree height
  • crown density
  • derivation of stem volume and biomass potential
  • surface roughness of forest soil
  • forest mask generation
  • crown length calculation
  • stand structure

  • setup of forest databases
  • estimation of biomass potential
  • evaluation of protection and managed forest
  • planning of ropeways and tree accessability
