SAGA GIS
Most of the LASERDATA products attach to SAGA GIS, especially LIS WORKSTATION and LIS DESKTOP. SAGA is a Geographic Information System (GIS) software, which offers a comprehensive and still growing set of geoscientific methods. It provides an easily approachable user interface with many visualisation options and has been designed for an simple and effective implementation of spatial algorithms. LASERDATA LIS benefits from these features.
SAGA is a Free Open Source Software (FOSS) and is licenced under the GNU General Public License except for its Application Programming Interface (API), which is licenced under the GNU Lesser General Public License.
LASERDATA supports SAGA development as a funding member of the SAGA User Group Association and actively contributes to SAGA core development. These contributions are open source themselves and are thus directly returned to the community. One of our senior software developers has contributed to SAGA modules for many years and is an executive board member of the SAGA User Group. Among other things he takes care of the SAGA Wiki and SAGA Forums.
As a service, LASERDATA regularly publishes SAGA binary packages build from CVS (Concurrent Versioning System, a software revision control system which keeps track of all source code changes). These CVS snapshots allow you to keep up with software development and bug fixing without the need to compile SAGA yourself.
