Database

The component LIS SERVER uses the free open source database PostgreSQL/POSTGIS for data managment. It can be used both as local or remote server. The implemented data model supports seamless access to point and raster data. Flexible storage concepts allow the handling of differently structured data (raw data/flight strips, classified data, tiled data ...) and allow for fast data access. In case of browser based data access (using component WEB) LIS SERVER includes the free Apache Tomcat environment.

Desktop Client

The locally installed component LIS GUI comprises a graphical user interface and a command line application based on the Open Source Software SAGA GIS. This allows easy operation of LASERDATA LIS and facilitates the automation of work flows by scripting.

Administration and Analysis

The component LIS MOD is a compilation of software modules for the management and processing of LiDAR data. These modules implement the processing functionality of LASERDATA LIS and extent LIS GUI. The functionality ranges from data management (import, export, data conversion) to complex analysis tools for point and raster data. All product versions comprise a basic configuration of modules, which can be extended easily by further modules.

Webinterface

The component LIS WEB allows the usage of LASERDATA LIS for browser based data distribution and analysis. The web interface is accessible by standard internet browsers and includes user administration tools. The functionality provided by the interface can be easily configured, e.g. to match the needs of data distribution or the extraction of transects.
